Bill Zuber, born March 26, 1913 in Middle Amana,
Iowa, was a pitcher who had an 11 year career from 1936 to 1947. He
pitched with the Cleveland Indians, Washington Senators, New York Yankees and
Boston Red Sox - all of the American League.
Zuber also started a restaurant in Homestead of the Amana Colonies where he was
born. Locals enjoyed the family style meals and the coconut cream pie.
He died November 2, 1982 in Cedar Rapids, IA. |
