Iowa County Secondary Road systems is comprised of:
• 16 Townships (approximately 587 square miles) • 159 miles of paved
roads • 697 miles of gravel roads • 74 miles of dirt roads • 206
bridges
Iowa County Engineer:
The county
engineer is a licensed professional engineer and is appointed by the Board
of Supervisors.
Reports weekly to the Board of Supervisors all plans
and specifications of road, bridge, and culvert work.
The engineer
office designs, inspects, and administers the construction of roads and
bridges in the county as well as various projects that enhance the road
system.
The engineer inspects the bridge structures on a regular
basis to assess their condition and safety.
Reports annually to
county and state officials all expenditures on secondary road funds.

Mission is to provide unincorporated Iowa County with the safest and
highest quality of roads and bridges. We seek to accomplish this with
constructing bridges and culverts, paving roads, and grading roads,
gravel, snow removal, traffic signing, and brush control with the most
advanced technology possible. |
